After coming back from a larger city I have discovered that people from small towns have a hard time believing in Evolution. It's quite interesting that those who absolutely will not believe in The Theory of Evolution, refute to or have read very littlle concerning it. It's a sad story when people will go throughout their lives having blind faith without know the facts that are about them. Even you may have succomb to this ignorance of scientific facts. To learn more concerning evolution, copy, past and Google: talkorigins.org/faqs/evolution-fact.html

I lived there in your town way back when - between 1960 and 1965 and have some really good memories of my time there. I'm now with the FizzGiz team. I often wonder what happened to many of the residents I knew back then.

The more things change, the more they stay the same! If you doubt this, do some reading about FDR's first year in office and Republicans' objections to the New Deal (some of which, admittedly, was found to be unconstitutional). The same exact arguments used today against Pres. Obama were used then in response to FDR's attempts to get the country going again. Scarily, though, with all he did, FDR never did solve the Great Depression - it took WWII to do that.

What an historic day November 7th 2009, the first step in losing our constitutional rights under this new health care bill. I do realize of course that the Senate has a bill of their own and they will combined the two in committee, this may be the last chance to stop this ridiculous bill before we lose our choice's of freedom in the United States. In other words you no longer have the right of choice when it comes to your health care. An appointed bureaucrat you don't know" and quite frankly who don't want" to know you. Will be making decisions for your life choices. Quite a frightening thought because of the fact now under this new bill and health care committee they will decide what you get how you'll get it, and if you are worthy of getting it. In other words lets you expire. I find this all quite troubling. Our children their children and their children children will never know the freedom we enjoyed before this ridiculous enactment of new Social health care. This new Government intends to run our lives and all aspects of it the best way is to control our health-care. To control one's money you only hafe control that person. To control their medications and health-care you control that person. I don't think this is about health-care not really it's about socialistic takeover of our constitutional and rightswe have in joyed. And In the redistributing of wealth in this country? If it makes sense it's not socialist. Anything rational will not be considered by this new regime. They have an agenda to destroy our financial system and our capitalist way of life, and then install their new socialist order. This is there new revolution socialists are in our house. Very scary indeed. I for one seen this coming right out of the gate. So prepare yourself this is going to be a wild ride. Total unraveling of our freedoms from within. Watching history be made. God help you and protects you, because our new socialistic Government will not. Our new socialistic Democratic Government or regime. will make criminals of us all. Just read the new bill five years imprisonment $120,000 fine just for not having insurance. Why would they need to threaten us in this way. To make us take the Pill they want to jam down our throats. We will be able to tell our grandchildren if we live through this, that we knew the time when we were all free. And there was a paper we called the Constitution that we live by. It was in the year 2009 in acted in 2010 the end of all freedom as we knew it in the United States. This is my opinion the way I see it. The last free American breed

What has happened to our Great Land? How could this what has happened happen? There is nothing in the Great writings of our Constitution about the Government taking control of health care. Not a word in our great living Constitution" “Not A Word '' We must the people stand UP and stop this Government’s takeover of all free enterprise. And our health care That seems to be their goal. This new regime in power today is indeed systematically dismantling our country" not only financially by also the freedom we have enjoyed from the beginning until just recently. Our New President has no respect for the Constitution of the United States he has said so repeatedly in fact he had said it is an imperfect document. And yet the majority of voters put him in office? Certainly America wanted change" I just don't think they wanted this kind of changes a total takeover by Government bureaucracies. Civil rights constitutional rights are being shredded constantly by this regime. Constitutional powers of our elected officials are also being bypassed. We must as the people stand up and stop this ridiculous agenda of our new President and his thinking. It's not so much what we see, it's the things he does and has been doing behind closed doors. i .e. Executive decisions one after another. In which is undermining our Constitution and or civil rights and monetary matters a total takeover of free enterprise. I personally have never seen such a thing as what is going on in the halls of Congress today a total miss balance and sequester and gagging of the opposite party into submission. In all my years as a United States citizen I have never seen such a blatant disregard for the Constitution law and jn the way they are doing business in the halls of Congress today. This is all terribly upsetting” And also watching history be made in the fall of our Great nation and our civil rights. We the people are the power. We must let all our elected officials know that, they must understand we can and will remove them if they do not act correctly. A patriot is one who loves and would fight for his rights under the Constitution and holds to that Right. Take our country back from the left wing Progressives. Frank Edward Blanchard

Well its 911 the anniversary of that horrible day of attacks. I am celebrating the day remembering that togetherness that Americans shown during them days and hours looking for any life in those fallen buildings. I for one will never forget all the victims of the first strike, and all the courageous soldiers that have died since. And of course not forgetting the people who died in the Pentagon nor the people who died in that lonely field from that horrible crash. Patriots all We are free and a proud people, let's not forget who we our end where we are going. Let's not all our government to lose sight of why we are fighting the extremists. I believe we are safer because of the actions taken in the last eight years. However we ought not to allow our Government or its leaders to forget we are at risk and to be strong in fighting this war against radical terrorism. God bless America Frank Edward Blanchard

While you are complaining about gun shows in the streets or on the Fourth of July I was carefully and quietly reading the bills that Democratic Socialist's have been trying so desperately to pass.way to fast. After watching and many many hours of reading online. I have come to the distinct conclusion that the Congress of the United States is no longer working as it was intended to. Our forefathers would roll over in their graves if they seen what was going on. Dominance over legislation and holding the Republican Party and legislators hostage on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives. This is not what was intended for our democracy to be played under special rules to gain the upper hand on legislation to change the face of our country. Checks and balances have always protected our country free from those who would like to dominate the people of our country and their lives. But I see some very bad thing happening" on the floor of the Congress I have never seen before, A very concerned American what do they do with a man that signed a pledge that he would defend his country's constitution from all enemies foreign or domestic I'm afraid of the answer" to that question the socialists have definitely seized control and when they pass the new health reform bill we Americans may learn a new way to have health care. I know health care needs to be fixed however the plan I have looked over from cover to cover is chocked full of bureaucracy and layers and layers of it. The Government workers are being hired now that will make judgments on our health-care questions and our lives. I don't think I like that I would prefer my doctor to do that. I want you all to take part this is your life and health care . So do call your Congressman and express what you want. This is so very important for all of us. Don't let a few bureaucrats make decisions for your life. Get involved A very concerned American

Wah Wah Wah boohoo a gun show. You people whine so much. Be grateful that pathetic little town does ANYTHING for any holiday. If you don't like it MOVE or go out of town don't go and watch something they are actually trying to put on just to cry and b***h about it later. Go to Boston, stay home NO ONE CARES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I am sure poorly put on gun reenactment really taught your son very bad things, come on now! Get over it
It is what it isWednesday, Jul 22, 2009 (04:07:41 pm CDT)
so i must agree about the gun show.VERY inaccurate, very long, and VERY boring. "marshal" bo has somehow managed to convince our city council members that having a gun show in our town twice every Saturday is a great idea!!! NO ITS NOT i have heard MANY people who are visiting our little town say that this show is an embarrassment to our town. it makes the town look as though we don't know the "real" wild west. a bunch of city slickers come out here and try to play cowboy. the street being closed twice a day every Saturday is an inconvenience to those of us who live here. Also it is a BIG deal to us that only did they NOT have the approval of all the businesses on railroad avenue to close the street, we live literally 10 feet from where this show is held and it is noisy and a distraction. nobody asked us if this was ok. i have taught my son gun safety. i do not allow him to watch violent television shows or play violent games, yet, WITHOUT my consent there is a GUN fight in my front yard TWICE a day. maybe the city council should reconsider. let the ppl of willcox vote for once. i bet good money, this would end this joke of a show once and for all. okay stepping down off my soap box now.

Can anyone help with information on an older gentleman I met in Willcox in the mid-1960's? I believe his name was Slack and in the mid-1960's he was around 100 years old. He had been a city marshall of Willcox (Maley, at that time) in the late 1800's. I also believe that the late Joe Wootan, of Willcox, tape recorded Mr. Slack's reminiscenses and these recordings may be in the Arizona Historical Society. If anyone can give me more information about Mr. Slack (if that was his name) I would appreciate it. Thank you. Sid Adams (nek3387@hotmail.com)

OMG are you kidding me I can not believe somebody thought that whole gunfighting saga from hades that droned on for 40 minutes at last night fireworks display was a good idea somebody got the reqeust and somebody made the decision that this was a good idea and allowed this to go on and the rest of us had to endure it although I did notice several decided it wasn't worth it to wait it out to see the rest of the fireworks and just got up and left what did this have to do with America's Independance Day celebration it was the worst display of self promotion I had seen in some time it was dismal at best and a pointless waste of time for those of us who drove into town for the fireworks some of our friends came as far away as from Tucson just to enjoy this small town display rather than to deal with the crowds and traffic of Tucson .I found myself wondering why it is that Willcox is flypaper for every fly by night get rich quick scam and self promoting flim flam artists that wanders down the I-10 ? if you have to have a gunfight do it during Rex Allen Days and please do something historically accurate and relevant to the area instead of making stuff up that just rambles on and does nothing but allow you to babble on for 40 minutes to a helplessly captive audience who did want to see the grand finale. The only thing that could have made this show worth watching would have been if they had all used live ammo and put themselves out of our misery. My daughter who lives in Maine texted me during this farce and said "Next year Boston for the 4th" And I think I will start saving up for the trip today.

In this most unfortunate economic times. There is some state governments and local governments utilizing their law-enforcement traffic section to produce revenue for their state city. I for one living a small County of Cochise in this beautiful state of Arizona I have grown to love. My wife and I to get from our property to any township nearby which is always over thirty miles one-way must travel secondary roads and sometimes interstate highways. My wife and I pride ourselves on the fact that we obey all traffic laws and what was set forth in the pamphlet given by the motor vehicle division of Arizona. And keep our motor vehicles in top running order. Now of course realizing we are only human, we have not collected tickets for speeding reckless driving or any other driving violation. However since these hardened economic times local and state governments are trying to gain revenue off the back of local drivers. This is my form of protest that I think is in order. The next thing you all know the issue of your registration costs will go almost out of sight. My wife just recently got a ticket, secondary roads hardly ever visited by law-enforcement who intended to enforce traffic laws. Of course this traffic officer was hidden like a sneaky snake which is an outrageous to begin with. Why do you have to hide to get out a traffic violation and issue a ticket. It is some kind of entrapmentgoing on here. I feel sorry for the law-enforcement individuals who have to implement giving up tickets freely to gain revenue for their state and local governments. I for 1 AM outraged by could not believe my wife the most prudent driver I know besides myself got a ticket for speeding. Of course being a good citizen she accepted the ticket and was as cordial as possible to the officer. And then of course we paid the fine by mail. What is really a setting is the fact that you have to pay court security fee is well that is almost the amount of the ticket. Well over $75 in all. For a small infraction of over the speed limit. I realize we need law-enforcement, however they're not doing their job when they're not getting tickets to buy standards any way they can to gain money and revenue for their local and state government. Realizing most states are having a problem and a deficit with their state budgets. I only have one question in all this outrage where does the money do exactly? And where does it go exactly to the state to the court that receive the funds. To the officers that write them tickets? I find this all very upsetting because local law-enforcement intimidating drivers, in that way of course making them leery of anything and scaring them. I wonder that was actually intended to make law-enforcement a scary object in the eyes of the public. I was was raised to believe that the police and law-enforcement agents were our friends. All this recent behavior that I and my wife recently experienced. Makes me say to anyone that they are not your friends they are out to give you any kind of traffic violation to gain revenue. One cannot argue with a law officer who is performing his duty you'll be arrested and of course fined for that behavior. So you see this is a trap a out of control proportions And any other violations so as to impose a fine using the law of course. I myself am sick and tired of such behavior in my state. I am sure there's a lot more out there going on that had not been spoken on. Just remember you Justices of the Piece you were voted into office this could injure your future career the public will not forget all the impose side payments to the court for so-called security. I find that upsetting because I don't see any security at all from the police or even the court for that matter that can protect me anyway. I think I will protect myself thank you. For those of you that are reading this and has called police for whatever reason, note how long it took them to arrive to assist you. Where I live it's a thirty minutes response time. One could meet an unspeakable end in all that time waiting for help to arrive. I believe in the second amendment and I will protect myself my life in my property I don't think I await for response from law-enforcement to take care of my life and or security. Law-enforcement could do better than being the cronies for city governments and state governments to gain revenues by handing out tickets. One outraged citizen I am sure there are more.

As I read the entries into the guestbook, I was laughing hysterically at Mr. Grime’s entry. If you look on his website, his purpose # 1 states “The United Fascist Union will not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, creed, national origin or disability, provided that the applicant is a conservative of national origin. Nor will the U. F. U. endorse any type of racial hatred, such as that being practiced by conventional rightist groups. We will also not accept those that hate minorities, practice discrimination or that would do violent, stupid things as members” But yet, he writes “narcissistic, 0reo cookie, half-breed, mafia maggot Obama to infame racism and stir the masses to Civil War?” Is that not contradicting? Especially if you say that the U.F.C. members should not do “stupid things”. My Lord, I’m glad this delusional being takes himself seriously, because I sure as heck don’t…but it is something that induces a giggle.. .Thanks for the laugh, I needed that today.

Last month I enjoyed something I didn’t expect to find in our rural area. Of course, where else would I find such an unusual treasure! I followed the signs off Hwy 191 to Hwy 181 passed the S curve and drove up to a home that was made completely out of “reclaimed wood.” It is a beautiful home with a wrap-around porch made of old water beds! The barn was packed with some amazing antiques! One of which I purchased for a Christmas gift shh!! Surprisingly, however, the home and barn weren’t the biggest part of this adventure. The real adventure had more to do with the people from our area that were set up outside. There was the former fire chief of Sunsites singing his heart out for our entertainment. Surprised? I was too but I found out in his younger years he was in several bands and even had a contract with a recording company! Who would’ve known?! There was a twelve year old wood worker whose own father says that he couldn’t match his son’s workmanship. I was very happy to get one of his spice crushers for my birthday! Oh, and did I mention that this young man has paid for all his own tools?! There was a couple that loves the beauty of this area we live in and has taken time to photograph and share this area’s amazing landscapes in note cards, magnets and much more. The husband seems always to be armed with a camera so watch out or you might get caught in his view finder! There was a man who started out by cleaning up the roadsides of the animals not as fortunate as the chicken who made it across the road. These animals were taken home, tanned and turn into beautiful purses, coat and much more. However, he now has decided to go with pre-tanned leather so don’t worry you won’t end up wearing something you saw on the drive home. There were several Mennonite ladies who make the most wonderful cookies, pies, breads, cinnamon rolls and much more. You can ask Ginger the sneaky Golden retriever about the rolls, she loved them!! There was a young couple who after they got married decided to combine their passions and studies of art and metal work to bring us a variety of metal art and that would look beautiful in any style home. If you ask the Mrs. she’d be proud to tell you her self-proclaimed ‘simple country boy’ has shocked many friends and family, including her, with his beautiful craftsmanship! There were many other Cochise county residents there who were simply fascinating, however, space and time constrict. Besides, I hope it leaves a bit of mystery to entice you to come see for yourself if I don’t tell the whole story! From what I understand they will all be there again on December nineteenth and twentieth along with many new artists and craftsmen. You will of course forgive me if I don’t mention my name! I’d really hate for my Christmas surprise to be ruined!! But I do hope to see many of you there this December to enjoy one of the strange treasures of this wonderful area.
