The new American breed Arizona has taken a bold step in forcing The U.S. Government to actually in force its immigration laws. I for 1 AM very proud of my state for passing such a bill. It is most unfortunate that lawsuit is being brought against Arizona's new immigration bill that would indeed force The U.S. Government to recognize their failure in securing our border with Mexico. I live in the Cochise area and had many problems with the illegal aliens trespassing, just recently two were found just outside of the property line on a roadway. Horribly dehydrated and possibly ill with some disease. Local law enforcement were called and they were removed my helicopter to medical facility. It is a horrible thing when the illegal aliens get this far and end up dehydrated or even worse in the hot summer heat. Not too awful long ago a neighbor was robbed and knifepoint and his money firearms and vehicle was taken, he was very fortunate to have survived and his goods recovered, the situations make this new bill absolutely necessary for the safety of our border and the communities beyond. Yet the President of the United States just recently said in a statement that our borders are more secure now than past 20 years. It is unfortunate this man can think such things. When in truth we are under illegal intrusions into our border state and drastic measures must be enforced. So there's on a bill was past. I for one short of arming myself all the time, and employ the use of large dogs to protect my residence from invasion. They do give fair warning of intrusions and also deter any possible invasions onto my property it is working very well as a deterrent It is so unfortunate that a few criminals, drug dealers drug transporters and other criminals and made it horribly dangerous for a common Mexican citizen in the close border region. Just remember they are also human beings in a strange land probably hungry and most certainly thirsty. Our war is not with just the illegal immigration problem it is the onslaught of drug cartels causing an invasion of our country. This is indeed a national security problem that must be addressed.

The Flores/Morales families just had a family reunion the weekend of April 23rd. We had a picnic at Keiller Park. The park has really changed over the years and Willcox should be proud for keeping the ramada in great shape and the park in itself. What an improvement. Everyone commented on what a beautiful park it is. Thank you City of Willcox.

After coming back from a larger city I have discovered that people from small towns have a hard time believing in Evolution. It's quite interesting that those who absolutely will not believe in The Theory of Evolution, refute to or have read very littlle concerning it. It's a sad story when people will go throughout their lives having blind faith without know the facts that are about them. Even you may have succomb to this ignorance of scientific facts. To learn more concerning evolution, copy, past and Google: talkorigins.org/faqs/evolution-fact.html

I lived there in your town way back when - between 1960 and 1965 and have some really good memories of my time there. I'm now with the FizzGiz team. I often wonder what happened to many of the residents I knew back then.

The more things change, the more they stay the same! If you doubt this, do some reading about FDR's first year in office and Republicans' objections to the New Deal (some of which, admittedly, was found to be unconstitutional). The same exact arguments used today against Pres. Obama were used then in response to FDR's attempts to get the country going again. Scarily, though, with all he did, FDR never did solve the Great Depression - it took WWII to do that.

What an historic day November 7th 2009, the first step in losing our constitutional rights under this new health care bill. I do realize of course that the Senate has a bill of their own and they will combined the two in committee, this may be the last chance to stop this ridiculous bill before we lose our choice's of freedom in the United States. In other words you no longer have the right of choice when it comes to your health care. An appointed bureaucrat you don't know" and quite frankly who don't want" to know you. Will be making decisions for your life choices. Quite a frightening thought because of the fact now under this new bill and health care committee they will decide what you get how you'll get it, and if you are worthy of getting it. In other words lets you expire. I find this all quite troubling. Our children their children and their children children will never know the freedom we enjoyed before this ridiculous enactment of new Social health care. This new Government intends to run our lives and all aspects of it the best way is to control our health-care. To control one's money you only hafe control that person. To control their medications and health-care you control that person. I don't think this is about health-care not really it's about socialistic takeover of our constitutional and rightswe have in joyed. And In the redistributing of wealth in this country? If it makes sense it's not socialist. Anything rational will not be considered by this new regime. They have an agenda to destroy our financial system and our capitalist way of life, and then install their new socialist order. This is there new revolution socialists are in our house. Very scary indeed. I for one seen this coming right out of the gate. So prepare yourself this is going to be a wild ride. Total unraveling of our freedoms from within. Watching history be made. God help you and protects you, because our new socialistic Government will not. Our new socialistic Democratic Government or regime. will make criminals of us all. Just read the new bill five years imprisonment $120,000 fine just for not having insurance. Why would they need to threaten us in this way. To make us take the Pill they want to jam down our throats. We will be able to tell our grandchildren if we live through this, that we knew the time when we were all free. And there was a paper we called the Constitution that we live by. It was in the year 2009 in acted in 2010 the end of all freedom as we knew it in the United States. This is my opinion the way I see it. The last free American breed

What has happened to our Great Land? How could this what has happened happen? There is nothing in the Great writings of our Constitution about the Government taking control of health care. Not a word in our great living Constitution" “Not A Word '' We must the people stand UP and stop this Government’s takeover of all free enterprise. And our health care That seems to be their goal. This new regime in power today is indeed systematically dismantling our country" not only financially by also the freedom we have enjoyed from the beginning until just recently. Our New President has no respect for the Constitution of the United States he has said so repeatedly in fact he had said it is an imperfect document. And yet the majority of voters put him in office? Certainly America wanted change" I just don't think they wanted this kind of changes a total takeover by Government bureaucracies. Civil rights constitutional rights are being shredded constantly by this regime. Constitutional powers of our elected officials are also being bypassed. We must as the people stand up and stop this ridiculous agenda of our new President and his thinking. It's not so much what we see, it's the things he does and has been doing behind closed doors. i .e. Executive decisions one after another. In which is undermining our Constitution and or civil rights and monetary matters a total takeover of free enterprise. I personally have never seen such a thing as what is going on in the halls of Congress today a total miss balance and sequester and gagging of the opposite party into submission. In all my years as a United States citizen I have never seen such a blatant disregard for the Constitution law and jn the way they are doing business in the halls of Congress today. This is all terribly upsetting” And also watching history be made in the fall of our Great nation and our civil rights. We the people are the power. We must let all our elected officials know that, they must understand we can and will remove them if they do not act correctly. A patriot is one who loves and would fight for his rights under the Constitution and holds to that Right. Take our country back from the left wing Progressives. Frank Edward Blanchard

Well its 911 the anniversary of that horrible day of attacks. I am celebrating the day remembering that togetherness that Americans shown during them days and hours looking for any life in those fallen buildings. I for one will never forget all the victims of the first strike, and all the courageous soldiers that have died since. And of course not forgetting the people who died in the Pentagon nor the people who died in that lonely field from that horrible crash. Patriots all We are free and a proud people, let's not forget who we our end where we are going. Let's not all our government to lose sight of why we are fighting the extremists. I believe we are safer because of the actions taken in the last eight years. However we ought not to allow our Government or its leaders to forget we are at risk and to be strong in fighting this war against radical terrorism. God bless America Frank Edward Blanchard

While you are complaining about gun shows in the streets or on the Fourth of July I was carefully and quietly reading the bills that Democratic Socialist's have been trying so desperately to pass.way to fast. After watching and many many hours of reading online. I have come to the distinct conclusion that the Congress of the United States is no longer working as it was intended to. Our forefathers would roll over in their graves if they seen what was going on. Dominance over legislation and holding the Republican Party and legislators hostage on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives. This is not what was intended for our democracy to be played under special rules to gain the upper hand on legislation to change the face of our country. Checks and balances have always protected our country free from those who would like to dominate the people of our country and their lives. But I see some very bad thing happening" on the floor of the Congress I have never seen before, A very concerned American what do they do with a man that signed a pledge that he would defend his country's constitution from all enemies foreign or domestic I'm afraid of the answer" to that question the socialists have definitely seized control and when they pass the new health reform bill we Americans may learn a new way to have health care. I know health care needs to be fixed however the plan I have looked over from cover to cover is chocked full of bureaucracy and layers and layers of it. The Government workers are being hired now that will make judgments on our health-care questions and our lives. I don't think I like that I would prefer my doctor to do that. I want you all to take part this is your life and health care . So do call your Congressman and express what you want. This is so very important for all of us. Don't let a few bureaucrats make decisions for your life. Get involved A very concerned American

Wah Wah Wah boohoo a gun show. You people whine so much. Be grateful that pathetic little town does ANYTHING for any holiday. If you don't like it MOVE or go out of town don't go and watch something they are actually trying to put on just to cry and b***h about it later. Go to Boston, stay home NO ONE CARES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I am sure poorly put on gun reenactment really taught your son very bad things, come on now! Get over it
It is what it isWednesday, Jul 22, 2009 (04:07:41 pm CDT)
so i must agree about the gun show.VERY inaccurate, very long, and VERY boring. "marshal" bo has somehow managed to convince our city council members that having a gun show in our town twice every Saturday is a great idea!!! NO ITS NOT i have heard MANY people who are visiting our little town say that this show is an embarrassment to our town. it makes the town look as though we don't know the "real" wild west. a bunch of city slickers come out here and try to play cowboy. the street being closed twice a day every Saturday is an inconvenience to those of us who live here. Also it is a BIG deal to us that only did they NOT have the approval of all the businesses on railroad avenue to close the street, we live literally 10 feet from where this show is held and it is noisy and a distraction. nobody asked us if this was ok. i have taught my son gun safety. i do not allow him to watch violent television shows or play violent games, yet, WITHOUT my consent there is a GUN fight in my front yard TWICE a day. maybe the city council should reconsider. let the ppl of willcox vote for once. i bet good money, this would end this joke of a show once and for all. okay stepping down off my soap box now.

Can anyone help with information on an older gentleman I met in Willcox in the mid-1960's? I believe his name was Slack and in the mid-1960's he was around 100 years old. He had been a city marshall of Willcox (Maley, at that time) in the late 1800's. I also believe that the late Joe Wootan, of Willcox, tape recorded Mr. Slack's reminiscenses and these recordings may be in the Arizona Historical Society. If anyone can give me more information about Mr. Slack (if that was his name) I would appreciate it. Thank you. Sid Adams (nek3387@hotmail.com)

OMG are you kidding me I can not believe somebody thought that whole gunfighting saga from hades that droned on for 40 minutes at last night fireworks display was a good idea somebody got the reqeust and somebody made the decision that this was a good idea and allowed this to go on and the rest of us had to endure it although I did notice several decided it wasn't worth it to wait it out to see the rest of the fireworks and just got up and left what did this have to do with America's Independance Day celebration it was the worst display of self promotion I had seen in some time it was dismal at best and a pointless waste of time for those of us who drove into town for the fireworks some of our friends came as far away as from Tucson just to enjoy this small town display rather than to deal with the crowds and traffic of Tucson .I found myself wondering why it is that Willcox is flypaper for every fly by night get rich quick scam and self promoting flim flam artists that wanders down the I-10 ? if you have to have a gunfight do it during Rex Allen Days and please do something historically accurate and relevant to the area instead of making stuff up that just rambles on and does nothing but allow you to babble on for 40 minutes to a helplessly captive audience who did want to see the grand finale. The only thing that could have made this show worth watching would have been if they had all used live ammo and put themselves out of our misery. My daughter who lives in Maine texted me during this farce and said "Next year Boston for the 4th" And I think I will start saving up for the trip today.
