    Immunize pets against parvo virus

The Cochise County Humane Society wants you to know that Canine Parvo Virus is a serious and highly contagious disease that is a major killer of puppies as well as unprotected older dogs. Dogs who become infected have a 50-50 chance of survival. The good news is that this is a preventable disease. The easiest way to prevent parvo virus is through annual vaccinations. Veterinarians recommend that puppies get boosters every three weeks until they are sixteen weeks old, and they should be kept separate from unvaccinated dogs. Vaccinations are available in conjunction with a spay or neuter at one of our monthly Spay/Neuter Clinics.

Homes are needed for free spayed, neutered and vaccinated barn cats.

August schedule for the low cost Spay/Neuter Clinic is:

    Willcox - 8/18 and 8/19

    Elfrida - 8/25
