Sports page correction
In the July 14, 2010 issue of the Arizona Range News, the golfer on page B1 was misidentified. The golfer is Drake Regalado, a Willcox High School sophomore.
Volleyball starts Aug. 2
The first Day of Practice for WHS volleyball is Monday, Aug. 2, beginning at 10 a.m.
Fees, registration, physical, and Sports Safety Film need to be completed prior to practicing.

Free sports physicals
WASA will host free sports physicals at Willcox High School on Friday, July 30, 1- 4:30 p.m. at the gym.
The physicals are for all middle school or high school sports and American Youth Football and Cheer.
Students must also watch the sports safety film with a parent prior to joining a middle or high school sport. It will be shown continuously through the hours of the physicals.
Girls fastpitch meeting Aug. 2
The Willcox Girls Fastpitch will be having an end-of-year meeting on Monday, Aug. 2 at 6 p.m. at the Willcox Elks Lodge. We encourage parents and coaches to come.
Quarterback Club tourney
The Willcox Quarterback Club is holding its annual Kick-Off Classic golf tournament on Saturday, Aug. 7 at Twin Lakes Golf Course in Willcox.
Two tee times will be available for the four-man scramble: 8 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. The $50 entry fee includes cart for 18 holes, lunch of hot dogs on-the-fly, dinner and dance at the Elks Lodge.
The dinner-dance at the Elks Lodge includes a live and silent auction, beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets may be purchased at the door for dinner for $15.
The dance is free and open to the public - no ticket required.

Live auction items include 500 pounds of beef; two 50-yard line, 10 rows up, tickets to the U of A/Washington football game; resort packages and more.
There will also be golf basket raffles - one basket is worth $1,300 and includes golf all over Southeast Arizona, a Taylor Made Burner Super Fast driver, and much more.
The Quarterback Club supports WHS football and other high school sports.

The 1st Annual 'Wesley Moore and Friends "Holes in Heaven" Golf Tournament' will be held Saturday, July 31 at Twin Lakes Golf Course. Tee-off is at 9 a.m. The format is a 4-man scramble (pick your own team - or we will place you if you don't have a team). The $50 per person entry fee will include cart, green fees, and a steak lunch.
A "Memorial Picture Board" will be created and displayed at the tournament. If you have a picture of a special golfer now deceased you would like to honor on the board, or if you have any questions, please contact Donnis Black (520) 507-0708. We will make arrangements to pick up a copy of your photo, or you may e-mail it to donnis.black@yahoo.com.
To sign up for the tournament please call Twin Lakes at (520) 384-2720. Space is limited so sign up early. All monies raised will be donated to the WHS Golf Team.
AYSO soccer registration
Willcox AYSO soccer registration will be held at the Safeway parking lot on Fridays and SAturdays -- Aug. 13-14 and Aug. 20-21, from 3-7 p.m. Fridays, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on saturdays. Fees are $45 for the first child and $40 for the second child registering in a family.

Willcox Youth Football and Cheer season begins! Registration will be held at our WASA Football and Cheer camps held July 26 to 30 from 5 to 7 p.m. at WHS Gym, and WMS Football field.
Football practice for the 2010 season officially starts Monday, Aug 2 at 5 p.m. at Quail Park. Ages 5 to 11.
Cheer practice for the 2010 Season starts Aug 16, and will be Mondays and Thursdays at Keiller Park from 5 to 7 p.m. Ages 5 to 14.
