FFA Week 'Blow-Out' is Friday

Mayor Gerald "Sam" Lindsey last Monday proclaimed Feb. 20 through 27, 2010, to be "Willcox FFA" week.
The Willcox FFA Chapter will be celebrating FFA Week with lunchtime activities at Willcox High School, a Teacher/Staff appreciation breakfast today, Wednesday morning, and a "Blow-Out" in the High School Gym on Friday from 5-8 p.m. The Blow-Out is open to the community. There will be inflatable games such as the obstacle course and jousting. Hot dogs and sodas will be served.
The FFA Week proclamation reads:
"Whereas the Willcox FFA and Willcox Agriculture Education provide a strong foundation for the youth of Willcox and the future of food, fiber, and natural resources systems; and...the Willcox FFA promotes premier leadership, personal growth, and career success among its members;"
"Whereas Willcox Agricultural Education and the Willcox FFA ensure a steady supply of young professionals to meet the growing demands in the science, business and technology of agriculture; and...the Willcox FFA motto, 'Learning to do, doing to learn, earning to live, living to serve,' gives a direct of purpose to these students who take an active role in succeeding in agricultural education;"
"Whereas the Willcox FFA promotes citizenship, volunteerism, patriotism and cooperation, therefore, be it resolved that I Gerald W. Lindsey, mayor of the City of Willcox, do hereby proclaim Feb. 20 through 27, 2010, to be Willcox FFA Week."
