Christian musician Meece here Feb. 21

Christian music legend David Meece describes a "tremendous urgency" to "get the Gospel out to as many people as possible."

The renowned musician will be in concert Sunday, Feb. 21 at Willcox First Baptist Church, at 4 p.m.

With record sales in the millions, Meece is the composer of Modern-day Christian classics such as "We Are the Reason," "Forgiven," "Unknown Soldier," "Learning to Trust," and "My Father's Chair." He composed the Christmas classic "One Small Child" at the age of 14, having begun touring as a concert pianist at age 10. More information and audio clips are at www.davidmeece.com

Meece is a graduate of the Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore, where he was a scholarship student. He says,

"Obeying God is where it's at. I am convinced that there has been a tremendous urgency placed upon my life by the Holy Spirit to get the Gospel out to as many people as possible. I'm convinced Jesus is coming back very soon."

Along with international concert tours and a wide variety of events, he has been a featured artist in special Christmas productions and outreaches, military events, commencement ceremonies, anniversary celebrations and benefit concerts for organizations. He has been the guest artist for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association among other renowned televised broadcasts and has enjoyed the privilege of ministering to congregations in much smaller settings.

Because of the destructive effects that alcohol and drugs had on his family, David was drawn to the ministry of Teen Challenge and he has done annual benefit concerts since 1984.

David's life has impacted the lives of millions of people worldwide, and his passion for excellence in the field of Contemporary Christian Music continues to leave a powerful legacy for generations to come.

Dual book signing Feb. 13, Tombstone

The O.K. Cafe, on the corner of Third and Allen in Tombstone, will host a book signing Saturday, Feb. 13. Adele Crouch, local artist and author will be there with her children's book, How The Fox Got His Color. Joining her is Carmen Mercer, owner of the O.K. Cafe with her book America, DE-FENCE-LESS. Both authors will be available for you to purchase their books and have them personally autographed from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Adele Crouch and her husband, Doug, are retired and living in the Dragoon Mountains in southeast Arizona. She is an artist and author and spends much of her time lost in the world of painting. She is currently the featured artist at the Korner Store, on the corner of Jefferson and Highway 191 in Elfrida.

Adele's memories of her grandmother are filled with warmth, happiness and love. "She was cheerful and loving and her house always smelled like fresh baked bread. She had a 'snuggle up' lap and plenty of affection to go around for all of her grandchildren."

One night, many years after her Grandma Tony's death, Adele woke to the sound of her grandmother's voice in her head. She got up, went to her computer and typed what was streaming through her mind. The end result, How The Fox Got His Color.

It would be over 12 years before she found a publisher she confidently felt would do her book justice: Mascot Books. She made contact with Naren Aryal after seeing him on TV, and sent him a copy of her text. The rest is history. Aryal assigned an editor, Brad Vinson. Brad found an illustrator on their staff, Megan Gibbs, who was not only passionate about the story and its contents, but an excellent artist as well.

How The Fox Got His Color is a fun book for children, ages pre-school through elementary school. Although older children, adults, and English as a second language students will also enjoy it. If you miss the book signing, contact Adele at Adele@creationsbycrouch.com or www.mascotbooks.com for a copy of the book.

Sept. 11, 2001: Carmen Mercer's world was turned upside down; an awakening as the United States was changed forever. An attack on the United States was a startling realization for an immigrant who came to America in 1976 as a wife of an American soldier for reasons similar to millions of others - freedom, safety and the pursuit of happiness.

She is a legal immigrant from Germany; a proud citizen of the United States of America since July 3, 1999. For the last 15 years, Carmen has owned and operated a restaurant in Tombstone, the "O.K. Caf/"; she is also a very astute activist and voice for border safety and security in Washington, D.C. Carmen was drawn into action to affect a solution to the border security issue by educating herself, and the community at large on the issues of human and sex trafficking of minors/adults that occur along our border often resulting in environmental destruction. Carmen has been a guest on many radio talk shows; national and international television shows, including "Good Morning, America," "Fox and Friends" and "C-Span." As the Founder and President of the Minuteman Foundation, Carmen Mercer is able to extend her advocacy into the arenas of public education by fostering the knowledge to both Latin Americans and United States citizens on the critical importance and prevention of human and sex trafficking of minors/adults that occur along our border and the resulting environmental destruction.
