Healing Hearts Animal Sanctuary's low cost Spay/Neuter/Vet Care Days

Healing Hearts Animal Rescue and Refuge, located in Willcox, announces low-cost Spay/Neuter/Vet Care Days. A mobile clinic will be providing low-cost spay and neuter services as well as other vet services, such as dentals, vaccinations and mass removals at 5540 North Fort Grant Road on Monday, Nov. 30 and Tuesday, Dec. 1. Services will be provided by Healing Hearts Rescue and Refuge Mobile Veterinary Surgical Unit.

"Overpopulation is the leading killer of companion animals in rural areas throughout the state. By attacking the problem at its source with low-cost spay and neuter mobile clinics, we will be saving the lives of countless animals," said Betty Welton, President and Founder of Healing Hearts Animal Sanctuary. Welton further states that "spaying or neutering is a one-time low cost with a lifetime of benefits for your animal."

Rates will be as follows:

Cat Neuter- $29


Cat Spay - $50

Dog Spay - 0-20 lbs - $70; 21-40 lbs - $75; 41-60 lbs - $80; >61 lbs - $80 plus $1/pound

Lactating - addl $10-$20

In Heat - addl $10-$20

Pregnant - addl $15-40

Dog Neuter - 0-40 lbs - $55; 41-70 lbs - $70; >71 lbs - $70 plus $1/pound

Cryptorchid - addl $10-$40

Other services may be offered as needed. Please discuss your needs during scheduling.

Payment is required at the time of service. Healing Hearts accepts credit cards or cash.

All animals must be healthy to undergo surgery. A brief examination is performed and should the pet's health be questionable, surgery will not be performed. All spay/neuter surgeries are performed by an Arizona licensed veterinarian that specializes in high-volume spay/neuter surgeries. The mobile clinic is inspected by the Arizona Veterinary Examining Board.

Hours will be:

  • Monday, Nov. 30 starting at 8 a.m.- 5 p.m.

  • Tuesday, Dec. 1 starting at 7 a.m.- 2 p.m.

    Appointments are recommended but not necessary, but animals will be served on a first-come, first-served basis without an appointment.
