BOWIE'S BIG FOURTH OF JULY BASH begins with a parade at 9 a.m. At 10:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., activities include a food sale, swimming contests, fire truck spray down, open swim and more. Bingo is from 3 to 5 p.m., followed by a BBQ dinner, which includes beef with cole slaw, potato salad, beans, bread or tortilla, and a drink, to be served from 5 to 7 p.m. Dinner plates are $6 for adults and $3 for children. A jam session will entertain you while you eat. Anyone who plays or sings is welcome.

A free DJ Dance and announcement of raffle winners will begin at 9 p.m. and continue until midnight. Raffle prizes are: metal lawn figurine, afghans, quilt, malachite necklace, decorative wreaths, pistachios, gift bags, T.V., and more! You need not be present to win.

The parade will end at Bowie Schools and all of the next events will be on the school grounds. No smoking, drinking or drugs of any kind will be allowed! Tickets for the Raffle are $1 each or six for $5 and the BBQ meal can be purchased before July 4 at businesses in Bowie, from members of the Friends of the Bowie Pool or by calling the Bowie Chamber of Commerce at (520) 253-0930. Tickets will be sold all day at the Bowie Fourth of July events.

All proceeds from "Bowie's Big Fourth of July Bash!" will go to the Bowie Unified School District #14 Swimming Pool Fund.

SUNSITES COMMUNITY GOLF Association's "Red, White and Blue" tournament at Shadow Mount Golf Course is part of the community's Fourth of July Celebration. Format will be three-person best ball.
